7th grade / Geometry & measures / Measures of 3D shapes / Surface area / Calculate surface area of cuboids
The surface area of a cuboid such as a rectangle is the sum of the areas of each of it's six sides.
Since each pair of opposite sides have the same area, we can sum the areas of the 3 sides LW LH and WH (where L = length, W = width and H = height) and then double that value.
So a general formula for calculating the surface area of cuboids is:
SA = 2LW + 2LH + 2WH
or
SA = 2(LW + LH + WH)
With our Four in a row math game you will be practicing the topic "Calculate surface area of cuboids" from 7th grade / Geometry & measures / Measures of 3D shapes / Measures of 3D shapes. The math in this game consists of 16 questions that ask you to calculate the surface area of cuboids using the formula SA =2(LW+LH+HW).
The game will reinforce the math you have chosen to learn by getting you to match the question to the correct answer.
